Monica - The Makings Of Me
Miss Monica is back with her new studio album The Makings Of Me (due Oct 3rd) and although the cover is hot the album is kinda lacking. With only 10 tracks (most of which leaked before the album was even leaked) its hard to see how she will sell as no offence to her but she cant get away with having limited tracks like Beyonce did with Bday(well Beyonce at least had bonus stuff) and there will be stiff competition in the form of The Killers, Robin Thicke and already released albums from Janet, Ludacris and Justin. The 10 tracks she does provide are good tracks but it just isnt enough after being out of the spotlight for so long. See my comments for further comments.

Miss KYLIE MINOGUE.... She's had a rough time of it the last few years and now after having successful treatment for breast cancer she's back with a homecoming tour in Australia in November and the UK in January. She sold out most of the dates in the UK in less than 10 minutes!! To help thank fans for their support she is going to release a new single in November and album which she describes as "SexyPop" in the new year. The first single "White Diamond" is said to be about her battle with cancer using the diamond as a metaphor for strength and resilience. The track was written with Jake Shears and Babydaddy of the ScissorSisters and the cover is hott. It has not yet leaked but im sure it will soon and when it does it will be here for you to hear. The Killers - Sams Town

The Las Vegas based band are back with their sophomore album Sams Town. Their first album was pop/dance/rock at its best. With this album the band decided to change it up and go in a different direction wich is a risky move that in my opinion pays off. The album is full of great rock songs and throwbacks to the earlier rock n roll tracks from the 70's and 80's. Standout tracks include the first single When You Were Young, Bones(which will be second single with video directed by Edward Scissor Hands director Tim Burton) and the fantasticly catchy titled Bling(Confession of a King). ALL SAINTS - Silver Shadow

Way way back in 1995 before the girls known today as All Saints there was their very first incarnation called ALL SAINTS 1.9.7.5. The line up included Shaznay Lewis, Mel Blatt and a third girl called Simone (who on this track sang more vocals than Shaznay and seemed to be the leader). In 1995 they recorded and released their frist single titled Silver Shadow. The video was very retro, featured bad dancing and the single flopped majorly. Simone left the band and when Shaznay and Mel failed a second time as a duo (they released If You Wanna Party(I Found Love), which would later be reincarnated into Lets Get it Started on their debut album), they recruited Nic and Nat and the rest was history. This video is very rare so enjoy it while you can... ahhh the old days lol

Singer/Actor Robin Thicke has been around for a while.He had guest starring roles Tv's The Wonder Years andGrowing Pains at 13/14 and he enjoyed moderate success in the early 2000's with his debut album "Cherry Blue Skies" and the single "When I Get U Alone". In 2005 he guest vocalled on Will Smith's track Switch( which was somewhat of a flop in the US) and subsequently he was was signed to The Neptunes record label, Star Track. Soul Avengers Feat JAVINE

Javine (Hylton) was a finalist on Popstars The Rivals ( the tv show that created Girls Aloud). Controversy surrounded her not getting into the band as she was considered to be more talented than Sarah Harding(the girl who beat her into the final place in the band) but she managed to forge a career of her own and throughout the last 3 years has tried to break the charts with limited success( she had a few top 20 singles and represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest). But she's now reinvented herself again and is back performing guest vocal duties on the Soul Avengers " Dont Want The Morning To Come". The track is hott and Javine seems to have found a niche she should have done from the beginning. Dance music suits her voice and this could be the comeback she needed. She signed a new record deal and maybe this time she will have the success she deserves... Enjoy this...

Casino Royale Bond Theme Tune

There has been a long tradition of having a major(ish) artist do the theme tunes to James Bond 007 movies from oldies like Shirley Bassey(Golfinger) to more recently Madonna (Die Another Day), Garbage (The World Is Not Enough) and Sheryl Crow (Tomorrow Never Dies). There was said to be a battle on to record this film's title track with artists such as Robbie Williams( he is said to be desperate to record a bond theme!!), U2, Sugababes(???) etc rumored to have recorded and submitted tracks, but in the end the coveted bond song is written and performed by Chris Cornell. You might say "who??" but Chris is well know as the frontman for Indie/rock band Audioslave. "You Know My Name" is a cool enough track and its better than the recent bond efforts but as far as im concerned it is not that original.... it feels like its been done before. As always you can judge for yourself....

Jet - Shine On

Probably best know for their hit "Are You Gonne Be My Girl" which enjoyed massive success in 2003/4, Aussie rockers Jet follow up their critically acclaimed debut album Get Born with the new album Shine On (due in the US Oct 3rd and UK Oct 2nd). Itunes in Australia accidentally leaked this album(hehe) so its great quality and i am surprised that they have managed to avoid the sophomore slump and Influences from the bands that Jet toured with from Oasis to the Rolling Stones can be seen in this record without copying them directly. The first single "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" is a standout track along with "Thats All Lies", "Elenor" and "Come on, Come On". But in my opinion this album is great from start to finish(the album cover is not the best though lol). For further comments read the comments

Ok so i (along with alot of people), had kinda counted Miss Janet out of ever releasing a good album again after the massive disappoinment that was Damita Jo. Once again though, Janet has come back and proven that she is still a force to be reckoned with. Her new album 20 Y.O probably would have fared the same fate and disappeared off the face off the earth if her first single Call On Me (which featured rapper Nelly) was anything to go by, but she followed it up with one of her best tracks to date SO Exited (Feat Rapper Khia) and the anticipation for the album grew again. I MET DANITY KANE TODAY!!

So today after 3 hours of waiting in line at a Nordstrom(department store in the US)i got to meet Danity Kane. They were soooo gorgeous in person and soooo nice. The girls introduced a fashion show and then did a signing. We were supposed to follow a whole bunch of stupid rules like no cameras, no asking for personalized autographs and no talking to the band, BUT im not a follower of rules usually. I managed to get threatened with being ejected for taking pictures during the girls introduction of the fashion show adn when it came to actually meeting the girls i didnt follow any of the other rules(although i couldnt get any pictures!!). The girls loved my shirt and my accent( hehe americans love British accents) helped me have converstaions with each of the girls. I got hugs( without even asking LOL) and each of them personalised my poster and album ( they hadnt done it for other people.. my two friends didnt get it!! lol) Aubrey wrote " Paul - I LOVE YOUR EUROPEANASS!!" lol They were so lovely and i had a blast.

Clearing Up A Few Things

Ok people so im writing a little editorial to clear a few things up, as this afternoon some things went down in the SHOUTBOX that i am not happy with and i do not want to upset visitors to this blog, its affiliates or staff. I know this is not blog related but I feel that as anyone can write their name as anything in the SHOUTBOX this is the best way to correct this as this shows my name and can only be edited by staff or myself.

First,I was not even online when the person pretending to be me was( I was asleep until 3pm PST - no im not lazy lol). Secondly, I would like to say that I would never ever speak to anyone in the derogatory way that the person claiming to be me did (especially fellow staff members), nor would I condone that. In regards to me supposedly getting mad about people calling me GAY, i actually take no notice and to be frank I dont give a shit. I am GAY and very happy being who I am and living the lifestyle I live. I dont get mad because people are ignorant and unwilling to accept other people for who they are because they are the ones who will lose out in the end. What goes arund comes around.

Also, many people have the preconceived notion that i own this blog but i am in fact just a staff member!! I take great pride in that fact as i love being a staff member here. We cant please everyone as we all have varying musical tastes, but we try. Thanks to my fellow staff members for making this blog the best it can be.

Well i hope that clears things up and we can get on having a great blog...

SO after 2 years the Scissor Sisters have returned with the follow up album to the 2004 international smash hit SCISSOR SISTERS, catchilly titled TA DAH!! This album carries on the themes of the first album while drawing on elements of early funk and artists such as Prince and Elton John (who coincdentally wrote the first single "I Dont Feel Like Dancing"). I think this album will once again be a huge hit in europe but whether or not they will actaully make it in the US this time remains to be seen(their last disc didnt sell so well here!!) Fashion Rocks The Best Of The Rest

So Fashion Rocks was actually a very well put together show(unlike the piece of **** that was the MTV VMA's last week) and featured a host of great performances from Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill, Rihanna(who actually sounded good for once), Pussycat Dolls(isnt Nicole technically an ex member now?? i thought she quit!! ANYONE KNOW WHEN SHE LEAVES??? lol), Bon Jovi ,Beyonce(of course lol), Scissor Sisters, the Black Eyed Peas( who were basically there to end Fergie's set with pump it lol) and the Curator Elton John.

My favourtie performances of the night though were Fergie's London Bridge (to be honest she sounded like crap during Here I Come... btw what hell was Elton trying to pull by singing that with her and Will.I.AM), Christina Aguilera's powerhouse performance of Candyman and Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous/Maneater ( what was up with her hair it made her look so old in the face.. i mean leather handbag old lol!!) So u guys can see what i mean here are the performances.....

Fashion Rocks - Beyonce Banana Tribute to Jopsephine Baker

U saw the pictures earlier now heres the performance and lets just say it was HOTT HOTT HOTT. She had some crazy dancing, a bit with a wind machine and a yellow sash and some spectacular vocals. The outfit shown in the previous pictures made alot more sense when the video screens behind her showed Josephine Baker images and spelt out her name. It was a fiting tribute to a legendary fashion icon(it was a fashion event after all!!). It was one of the best performances ive seen her(or anyone actually) do for quite a while. Love her or loathe her u have to respect Miss Beyonce for doing her thing and doing it well. Catch the performance here....

Girls Aloud are set to release a Greatest Hits album. It's called "The Sound Of Girls Aloud: Greatest Hits" and will be released Oct. 30. It will include of course, all of the Girls hits and a few new songs. "Something Kinda Ooh" is set to be the first single and will be released Oct. 23rd. And a new DVD is also being released the same day as the album but it will feature the the whole concert of the girls performing at Wembley. !

BEYONCE LOST HER MIND

Ok so Beyonce performed at the inaugural Fashion Rocks Concert in NYC last night with Jay- Z. Other performers included Scissor Sisters, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Elton John(to name a few). For some reason Beyonce semed to forget it was a fashion event(either that or shes trying to bring fruit back) and wore a micro/mini skirt made of what looked like bananas and a silver bikini top. I mean sure she showed of her hot body but WHAT THE HELL.. she seems to have been inspired by this pic of Josephine Baker :

Open Your Eyes(the supposed title of the album these should have appeared on)... they are from 2003 and were commisioned by Simon Fulller(creator of the Spice Girls and American Idol and Sclub 7) to sound like kylie and other highly popular dance/pop artists .
