Scissor Sisters Finish Second Album!
Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears has compared recording the New York outfit's second album to giving birth to a baby.The record 'Ta-dah', which also features a guest appearance from Elton John, is slated for release on September 18 and will be preceded by the band's comeback single 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin' on September 4.

A number of the new songs have been featured in recent live performances, including "Paul McCartney," "Hairbaby," "Everybody Wants the Same Thing," "She's My Man" and "Monkey Baby," but it is unknown how many will appear on the final track list. The group is said to have also recorded a song with Roxy Music vocalist Bryan Ferry.

Leama & Moor – Common Ground
From the first note on this album, you know that you are in for a musically fantastic journey. Leama & Moor (Marty Smith and Andy Moor (also known from his work with Tilt)) have created 11 astonishing tracks that all are mixed together in one continuing mix. The dreamy pleasant sound surrounds you and with its wonderful melodies, textured vocals and layered soundsscapes it will keep you mesmerised. Slowly but surely the tracks insensitivity build, the tempo is slowly picked up and the climax is reached with the two peak time floor killers "Calling" and "Waiting" which features the wonderful Jan Johnston on vocals. The album has taken Leama & Moor over a year to record and produce and the result is outstanding. You have to pick up this album right now, you won't be disappointed – this is the best progressive trance album of the year so far.

1. Waterdrop
The opener, wouldn't sound out of place backing a love scene on a film like Gladiator or Troy, haunting female vocals, lush pads and strings and a gentle beat give us wonderful intro to the album.

2. Hillside Climb
Awash with their trademark floating melodies, a groovy electro bass line and a break beat backing.

3. Coming Of Age
So smooth you barely notice it. This track is a six-minute ambient masterpiece. Reminiscent of classics such as the ambient mix of Melodica and Odessi – Moments Of Ambience (one of Smith's old projects) this has gorgeous female vocal samples, wonderful melodies and sumptuous strings, again with a soft break beat backing. One of the best pieces of ambient music you're likely to hear all year.

4. Neon Approach
Deep growling bass line, great percussion and a sweet guitar melody. Great track.

5. Everything Matters
The lead single from the album. For me this is one of the weaker tracks on the album, it is a bit slow and lacking in energy, especially in the dull bass line. The chopped up vocal is rather lovely though and the effects on them are very clever.

6. Forever
7. New Division
Two more break beat tracks, Forever builds layers of melodies and effects while New Division has a dirtier electro edge. Again strong, well produced tracks.

8. Cry For Help
The male vocals you will either love or hate, they are quite poppy and verge on being Phil Collins-esque, especially backed with an acoustic guitar strum. Still, a nice change from the instrumental tracks and gives the album a human element.

9. Calling
Bursts out of the speakers. A driving beat and awesome pulsating electro tinged bass line certainly get your feat moving and over the top float gorgeous twinkling melodies and ethereal female vocals.

10. Waiting
Another full vocal, this time from trance legend Jan Johnston.. i would probably give it the same description to "Calling" except that this is more french-electronica-ish.

11. Communication
The album closes with Communication, another breaks track with a neat electro bass line and cool chopped up vocal then with a lost-esque (yeah the tv show) bleep, it’s over.

Conclusion :
I feel Leama & Moor have succeeded in their aim with an album that is paced and builds perfectly from ambient beginnings to a full on dance floor peak and it flows so well you hardly notice the joins in the tracks. They have succeeded where many other trance artists have failed, to create an cohesive artist album that doesn't sound like a disjointed selection of club tracks. I would have liked to hear more vocal tracks but it is a varied album stamped with quality and awash with melody and atmosphere. It takes me back to Chicane at their peak and it is the perfect post-club soundtrack.

this electro pop track is taken off the new album "Bitter Tea" from Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger, this time without their Grandmother on vocals. It's another oddball pop classic, with plenty of psychy backwards guitars and vocals that will win favour with the broadsheets and monthlies. The only feeling I get upon listening to this is that the vocals and instrumentals were never made to go together. This is really just random words put to the sound of even more random noises. The only thing holding the songs together are their titles lol, still theres something ackwardly nice about it that makes u laugh and like!

1st "Goldfrapp" announced that the new video of the new single "Fly Me Away" will be a 3D animation, then a 19 sec preview of that video they promised hit the tv, couple weeks later "Mute" goldfrapp label announces on official forum that the video has been cancelled.

i'm writing this review/introduction for those who like to exapnd their tatse in music, discover more electronica artists and want to experience a range of sounds, so if you are a mainstream dl junkie you can skip this topic right now coz its seriously not for you, otherwise proceed:

Justice is one of my current electro crushes, this duo from paris "Gaspard Augé (aka The Moustache) and Xavier de Rosnay (aka The China)" without a doubt the only artist professional enough to create songs out of noise and distortion (Literally) and still make it sound like dance! In the latest EP "Waters Of Nazareth" released may 1st, you can experience 3 tracks that has everything from a dialtone recorded off a call from hell & second hand ripped 9000watts speaker playing drum n bass tracks on maximum volume to a Transylvanian club anthem, i can't figure what situation/mood fits best to this ep but all i know is i will play it all summer. To UNtrained ears Justice can be terribly wrong random noise and a headache trigger but they proved on this ep that they also have a soft side like the breakdown on "Let There Be Light" where the song just goes mellow and very electropopy, another song on the EP is "Carpates" a dark-up-tempo-tokyo-vamprie-like track. Justice style is well known as stuttry distorted noise for all the cuts between the beats & sharp static, i don't think they ever made a smooth track or remix before..Their purpose is to destroy dancefloors i think thats pretty much it.

this week i chose a genre i hate and rarely listen to! yeah "RAP" but this new single by the duo "Clipse" titled "Mr. Me Too" is pretty hot, i like the whole dark message, lyrics, beat & music. produced by startrak "Neptunes" & features "Pharrell William" as well the track sounds more electronic than urban (musicwise) since it's made 99.9% digitaly the whole track just sounds like 3 rich kids havin a conversation in their space shuttle.

What's going to be the hot sound of summer?

you know when a bunch of great indie albums keep getting released and you can't decide which one is your favourite until another new artist releases something that makes you forget about the rest, this is the case with "Whitest Boy Alive", The band formed by the GEEK himself "Erlend Öye" if you don't know him he's a major electornic/dance producer who remixed for many ppl including "Royksopp". When he wasn't being himself & working on his solo music he became a member of "Kings Of Convenience" still making electronic music though but that all changed when he decided to start a new berlin based indie project "Whitest Boy Alive" leading it with his naive, sensitive vocals & using only live instruments "Guitar, Drums..etc". Even though their music has nothing to do with electronica it does sometimes feel like it with guitar or without.

They originally started as an Electronica trio but slowly shifted to an Indie band! There has been a lot of hype building around "Whitest Boy Alive" specially on blogs… as there should be. Some of you will remember "Madonna - Hollywood" when listening to their promo single "Inflation" and the reason is simply the bassline.
